Thief

He is the type of thief
Sly and cunning
Patient and observant
And calculating
Who after embezzling millions of minutes
And countless hours of precious time
After stealing hearts and destroying trusts
After being incarcerated
After righteous conviction
Returns to the original scene of the crime
And begins casing it out again
And arrogantly tries to beguile the same secretary
Who helped him get hired in the first place.
She greets him with a smile (as is company policy)
But in his aftermath she changed all the locks
Because he is the type of thief
Very stupidly so
That presumes that he can try again
