I wish
I could have been there
In the early beginnings
When your earth was new
And your waters were peaceful
I would have told you
How magnificent you are
I would have nurtured your earth
Until it bloomed
I wish 

I could have been there
To guard you
From the rage of the sun
From the fickleness of the moon
From the cold and dark of night
I would have told you
How wonderous you are
How I am near,
How you are never alone...
But I was not there
In the early beginnings
When you were scorched
And frozen
And abandoned
And lost
And now you are seeking wholeness
By extracting it
From my bones.
