I paint on an artful mask
NARS foundation, MAC lip glass
Lancome lashes so folks won't ask
About my future, or current or past
And all they can say is
Girl, you can put on makeup
And I smile
Silent success of my subterfuge
Finding contentment in knowing my ruse
Has fooled another unsuspecting bloke
Into believing
That I am
